“Fatos Nano promised to return the money”, Sali Berisha admits the mistake with the pyramid schemes

Former Prime Minister and former President Sali Berisha admits the grave mistake that allowed pyramid schemes in the country.

In an interview for Tempora by Sonila Meço on RTV Ora, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that he made a very serious mistake, allowing pyramid schemes.

Berisha: I have known in a very serious mistake, the permission of pyramid schemes. But again, in ’97 it was Fatos Nano who told the Albanians that he would give them every penny lost, while I told them I would not give them a penny.

If I decided to take out a bad debt, I would pay them every penny. There I made the right choice, after a great deal of tolerance and error.
